Unsure what would happen, she jokingly said, I won’t do anything nostalgic. But that’s exactly what happened. Well, sort of. EWAH soon realised she was writing a set of songs exploring spirituality and teendom in the very town where she had begun her existential journey as a teenager. The music became a response to her experimental album GOSPEL DANCE, written in a spare room in a limbo year of hiatus and questioning in 2010 in Naarm/Melbourne. SPIRITUAL DANCE also finds escape, time-traveling across many lives lived within a life. Making house on-site at the dance studio EWAH’s world and music became enraveled with the sounds seeping in; rev heads doing blockies, doof beats, kids dancing, ambulance sirens, helicopters circling overhead, fluorescent lights blinking on, even the jingle of a heater switch. All this and more entered the experimental oddyssee of SPIRITUAL DANCE.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0611/9237/2389/files/ewah_e5b43fe3-4b96-477b-9721-db9d66262057.jpg?v=1789088731
